YEAR-LONG SEASONAL SAVINGS

01/06/2014

By: Kristina

We’re all familiar with Black Friday and Cyber Monday as days you can score great deals. But retailers offer other sales every year that will allow you to score all kinds of items from mattresses to televisions to clothing at deep discounts. We’ve researched typical deals offered throughout the year and come up with 10 year-long seasonal savings trends.

Superbowl Savings

Retailers will frequently discount televisions right before the Superbowl to entice the sports lovers out there.

February Finds

President’s Day is the time to buy a new mattress. February is also a great time to book a cruise or other vacation.

March Madness

March is a great time to stock up on winter clothing for next year. Winter items will be on clearance. You may also be able to find computers on sale as new models are released.

Summer Savings

Summer is a good time to buy a gym membership, as gyms compete with the nicer weather outside. You can also find deals on dishes, home decor, and refrigerators.

Fourth of July

Look for discounts on outdoor items including grills and patio furniture.

Back to School Savings

In addition to many states’ tax-free weekends, stores offer deals on typical back to school items in addition to tablets, computers, and home goods (for those students heading to college).

Fall Savings

It’s not quite as easy to find savings during the fall, with Christmas right around the corner. But you may be able to find appliances at a discount as manufacturers get ready to roll out new models.

Holiday Saving

We all know that the holidays are a great time to save! Everything seems to be on sale this time of year. Refer to our holiday savings posts here, here, and here.

Save with New Releases

When new versions of electronic goods such as phones, computers, tablets, and ereaders are released, the old versions typically go on sale at a steep discount as everyone flocks to get the newest version.

Look for typical holiday steals.

Holidays like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Valentine’s Day offer deals for the typical things people are looking for on these days; perfume and flowers for mom, grills and ties for dad, and chocolate, flowers, and buy-one-get-one deals for Valentine’s Day.
